A natural leader from a young age
Epifanio Perez Ruiz was born in 1991 in the community of San Antonio, Mosonte, Nueva Segovia Nicaragua. From the early stages of his life Epifanio has always been characterized as a very sociable person. Since he was 18 years old, his commitment to help the communities of Mosonte was noticeable, managing multiple projects for the development of the members of the communities.

Sports as a place for youth recreation.
Epifanio is a big sports fan. He has played baseball and soccer for many years. But his passion goes beyond just playing a sport. Epifanio sees sports as a space of social interaction and development for the youth. This is how he converted his love for baseball and has organized baseball tournaments in different communities as a method for the healthy recreation of youth, and to keep them away from bad environments such as drugs.

From a tragedy to being elected President of the Council
In 2006, his life was affected due to an eye accident, however, this situation did not prevent him from working for the communities and he later joined the Indigenous Council of Mosonte as a representative of the indigenous youth of the Mosonte municipality, where he continued to work on social projects to improve the lives of the people he represents.
In 2022, he was elected president and legal representative of the Mosonte Indigenous Council. Here, he and the other members of the Indigenous Council look after the different situations of the communities. The Council represents 14 indigenous communities, and Epifanio is always looking for ways to help and support his people in Mosonte.
He is now more committed to the communities and his goal is to help the people by improving their lives with social and economic projects.
