Last Saturday, August 24, CoCoDA joined CoCoSi Association in its celebration of 25 years of community work in the communities of Cabañas, El Salvador.

The event was held in the community center of the Santa Marta community, and was attended by CoCoDA’s director in El Salvador, Karilyn Vides, and CoCoDA’s assistant director in El Salvador, Enrique Pineda.

The celebration was filled with exciting artistic presentations that demonstrated the fruits of the work in the communities. In addition, recognition was given to the collaboration between CoCoDA and CoCoSi, and CoCoDA gave a present presented by our director in El Salvador, Karilyn Vides.

CoCoSi is an association that was founded in 1999 in the department of Cabañas, El Salvador, with the objective of preventing HIV transmission in the communities of Cabañas. Currently, CoCoSi also works in the areas of gender violence, sexual diversity, and sexual and reproductive education.

The association has faced different obstacles throughout its trajectory, which have been overcome thanks to the collaboration with other organizations and with the communities, especially the youth within these communities.

Karilyn Vides, Director of CoCoDA in El Salvador, received an acknowledgement in honor of the collaboration between CoCoSi and CoCoDA.

As CoCoDA, we appreciate the invitation to be part of this celebration and we reinforce our commitment to CoCoSi’s community work.
