Karilyn Vides is our Communications Director. She has a degree in Communication, which involves Public Relations, Journalism, and Digital Publicity. She also has had the experience of working as an intern at U.S. Embassy in El Salvador as part of the Ambassador’s press team and in Salvadoran American Cultural Center where she worked in marketing and social media areas.
Karilyn has been a Spanish Teacher in Spanish School Pájaro Flor since 2009 and has had taught Spanish to many of CoCoDA’s volunteers, especially those from Indiana University. “I really admire and appreciate the work that the volunteers do in my country and – as part of my thankfulness of their contribution – it’s a true honor to work for CoCoDA and publicize this valuable work in the development of our communities.”
Karilyn serves as the CoCoDA consultant in El Salvador, assisting with our partners projects and delegations, and the implementation, maintenance and evaluation of all of the communication efforts and platforms of CoCoDA with the goal of clearly and broadly marketing its mission, accomplishments and needs to present and new audiences.
Ms. Vides will offer consulting, translation and interpretation, and logistical support as CoCoDA seeks to establish and maintain community development collaborations with Salvadoran and Honduran non-profits and cooperatives.
